3. Product Performance Introduction
The RVV 2×0.75 mm² is a light-duty, double-insulated flexible cord built around a Class 5 fine-strand annealed copper conductor (24/0.20 mm), giving it the softness and fatigue resistance required for connections that are repeatedly moved, bent, or dressed into compact enclosures. Each conductor is individually insulated with PVC/D compound (0.6 mm wall), the two cores are laid up together, and the assembly is enclosed in a PVC/ST5 outer sheath (0.8 mm) — producing either a round or flat cross-section depending on layup .
Electrical reliability. With a certified ≤ 26.0 Ω/km conductor resistance at 20 °C and a 2000 V AC / 5 min withstand proof test, the cable delivers stable, low-loss power transmission for low-power AC (300/500 V) and DC supply circuits while maintaining a safety margin well above normal operating voltage . The ≥ 0.011 MΩ·km insulation resistance at 70 °C keeps leakage current negligible across the service life .
Thermal performance. Rated for 70 °C continuous conductor temperature (150 °C short-circuit, 5 s max), the PVC/D + PVC/ST5 system is formulated for long-term thermal stability under indoor ambient conditions . At a conservative ≈ 10 A reference ampacity (2-core, corrected for grouping), it comfortably supplies typical 220 V socket, lighting, and low-power appliance branches up to ~1.3–2.2 kW, with voltage drop remaining within standard tolerance on runs up to ~25 m at rated current .
Mechanical & safety performance. The fine-strand construction survives repeated bending (minimum bend radius 4× overall diameter, ≈ 23–29 mm), while the outer sheath resists abrasion from pulling through conduit and minor crushing in trunking . The cable passes the GB/T 18380.12 (IEC 60332-1) single-cable vertical flame test, self-extinguishing once the ignition source is removed . PVC mechanical properties are verified before and after aging (80±2 °C × 168 h): tensile strength ≥ 10.0 N/mm², elongation ≥ 150%, with change rates within ±20% — confirming the insulation/sheath will not embrittle prematurely .
Environmental & chemical resistance. Suitable for dry to damp indoor locations; resistant to mild acids, alkalis, alcohols, and common cleaning agents at room temperature . It is not rated for immersion, continuous outdoor UV exposure, or direct burial — route outdoors through UV-protective conduit or select a UV-rated jacketed type. Expected indoor service life is 25+ years at ≤ 70 °C conductor temperature when properly derated.
