Construction Description
| Construction Description — RVVP 2×0.75 mm² miniature shielded control cable | |||
| Layer-by-layer miniature shielded control cable: 2×thin flexible Cu / PVC insulation / copper braid shield / PVC sheath · 300/500 V · 70 °C · ≈ 6.0 mm | |||
| 1. Product Identity & Ratings | |||
| RVVP 2×0.75 is a miniature shielded flexible PVC control cable rated 300/500 V, 70 °C continuous. Built per GB/T 9330 / IEC 60227. Two 0.75 mm² very fine-stranded copper conductors enclosed in a copper wire braid shield (≥ 80% coverage) and PVC outer sheath. Designed for low-level signal circuits. Finished OD ≈ 6.0 mm, mass ≈ 65 kg/km, 100 m coils. | |||
| 2. Two Very Fine Flexible Copper Conductors | |||
| Two 0.75 mm² very fine-stranded annealed copper conductors (Class 5, ~24×0.20 mm). DC resistance ≤ 24.5 Ω/km at 20 °C. The extremely fine stranding gives excellent flexibility for tight routing in sensor leads and panel wiring. | |||
| 3. Copper Braid Shield | |||
| Tinned copper wire braid woven over the insulated cores with ≥ 80% coverage. The shield blocks EMI/RFI from nearby power cables and equipment — critical for microvolt-level sensor signals that are easily corrupted by noise. | |||
| 4. PVC Outer Sheath | |||
| PVC outer sheath ≈ 1.0 mm thick, dark/black. Provides mechanical protection and environmental resistance. The miniature flexible sheath bends easily for tight spaces and small connectors. | |||
| 5. Site Handling & Operational Notes | |||
| • Bend radius 6×OD (≈ 36 mm). • Use micro-connectors and crimp ferrules. • Ground shield at one or both ends. • At 65 kg/km, very light. • Indoor use. • Low-power signal only (≈ 7 A max). |
8. Standards & Conformity. GB/T 9330 (plastic insulated control cables); IEC 60227 (international); GB/T 3956 (Class 5 flexible conductors). Rated 300/500 V.
9. Packaging, Storage & Logistics. 100 m per coil, plastic wrapped. Continuous marking: RVVP, 2×0.75, 300/500V, GB/T 9330. Store dry, indoor.

10. Procurement Specification. State "RVVP 2×0.75" + length. Specify shield coverage requirement (≥ 80%). Confirm against factory test certificate.
11. Cable Industry FAQ.
- Q1: What is the difference between RVVP 2×0.75 and RVVP 2×2.5? The 0.75 mm² version is half the cross-section, 25% thinner (6.0 vs 8.0 mm), half the weight (65 vs 130 kg/km), and one-third the ampacity (7 vs 16 A). It is for low-level signals; the 2.5 mm² version is for control circuits carrying more current.
- Q2: Why use 0.75 mm² instead of 2.5 mm²? When the signal current is tiny (sensor outputs, microphone-level audio), 0.75 mm² is sufficient and much lighter, more flexible, and easier to route in tight spaces. The higher resistance (24.5 vs 7.41 Ω/km) is irrelevant for microamp-level signals.
- Q3: What signals can it carry? Low-level sensor signals (4–20 mA loops, thermocouple mV signals), audio interconnection, low-speed data lines, alarm contacts. It is not for power circuits.
- Q4: Can I use RVVP 2×0.75 for 4–20 mA sensors? Yes — 4–20 mA loop currents are well within its capability, and the shield protects the analog signal from industrial noise.
- Q5: Is the shield the same as RVVP 2×2.5? Yes — copper wire braid ≥ 80% coverage. The shield diameter is smaller (5.0 vs 7.0 mm) because it wraps smaller cores.
- Q6: What connectors are used? Micro-connectors, small D-sub, or crimp ferrules. The 1.1 mm conductor diameter requires smaller ferrules than the 2.0 mm conductors in RVVP 2×2.5.
- Q7: What is the bending radius? 6×OD ≈ 36 mm — even more flexible than the 48 mm of the 2×2.5 version.
- Q8: Can it be used outdoors? No — PVC sheath is not UV-resistant. For outdoor use, use outdoor-rated cable.
- Q9: How long can the cable run be? For 4–20 mA loops, typically up to a few hundred meters depending on loop impedance. For high-frequency signals, keep runs short to avoid capacitance effects.
- Q10: What if I need to carry more current? Step up to RVVP 2×2.5 (16 A) or larger. The 0.75 mm² conductor cannot safely carry more than ~7 A.
- Q11: How is this different from unshielded RVV? RVV has no shield — use it when there is no nearby noise source. RVVP 2×0.75 adds the copper braid shield for environments with VFDs, motors, or power cables nearby.
