1. Overview & Ratings
RVVP is a flexible shielded control cable: R = flexible tinned copper conductor, V = PVC insulation, V = PVC outer sheath, P = braided copper shield. The 2×0.75 version has two 0.75 mm² cores rated 300/500 V. OD ≈ 6.8 mm, ≈ 48 kg/km (est.), ≈ 6–8 A. The tinned copper braid provides ≈ 85% coverage for EMI/RFI protection. Designed for control panels, instrumentation, signal transmission and low-voltage interconnections in industrial and automation environments. Max conductor temperature 70 °C, operating range -15 to +70 °C. Not for outdoor direct sun without UV protection, and not for mains power distribution.

4. Thermal & Flame Behaviour
Operating range -15 to +70 °C continuous. Short-circuit withstand up to 160 °C for ≤ 5 seconds. PVC insulation and jacket are flame-retardant per IEC 60332-1 single vertical flame test. The cable is halogen-containing (PVC), so it emits HCl gas on burning — not suitable for enclosed spaces where corrosive gas is a concern. For low-smoke halogen-free applications, choose RVVSP or LSZH alternatives. Oil-resistant Type ST jacket suits machine tools and industrial cabinets. UV resistance is limited; install indoors or in UV-protected conduits.

5. Installation Practice & Handling
Minimum bending radius ≥ 6×OD ≈ 41 mm for fixed installation; 12×OD for moving or drag-chain applications. When terminating, connect the braid shield to earth at one end (or both ends per system design) using a shield drain wire or gland. Do not over-tighten cable glands, which would crush the braid. Use appropriate ferrules on the fine Class 5 strands. Route the cable away from high-power motor cables by at least 200 mm, or use separate metal conduits for the shielded signal pair. After installation, verify insulation resistance and shield continuity before energizing.

6. Typical Service Applications
Control panels and PLC I/O wiring, instrumentation and sensor signals (4–20 mA, 0–10 V), relay and contactor control circuits, interconnection between switches and contactors, low-voltage alarm circuits, and audio/signal interconnections in industrial environments. Particularly suitable near variable-frequency drives (VFDs), servo motors, welding equipment and other noise sources, where the braid shield suppresses electromagnetic interference. Not for: mains AC power distribution, high-speed data bus (use profibus/FlexRay), direct burial, or outdoor UV-exposed runs.

7. Testing & Quality Assurance Regime
Routine tests (100% production): DC resistance, AC voltage withstand (2000 V/5 min), insulation resistance, conductor construction, wall thickness, dimensional check, print legibility, mass per length, visual appearance, and packing. Type tests (per batch / material change): shield coverage, heat aging (100 °C/7 days), cold bend (-15 °C), jacket tensile, flame retardancy, and shielding effectiveness measurement. Every coil ships with mill test certificate, ROHS and REACH declarations. The in-house lab is calibrated annually against national standards.

| 1. Product Identity & Ratings | |||
| RVVP is a Chinese-designation flexible shielded control cable: R = flexible copper conductor, V = PVC insulation, V = PVC outer sheath, P = braided shield. The 2×0.75 version has two 0.75 mm² cores rated 300/500 V. It is built for control and signal circuits where electromagnetic interference must be suppressed. Max conductor temperature 70 °C, operating range -15 to +70 °C. Not for outdoor direct sun without UV protection, and not for mains power distribution. | |||
| 2. Tinned Copper Conductor (×2) | |||
| Each 0.75 mm² core is stranded from 24 tinned annealed copper wires of 0.20 mm in a Class 5 flexible lay-up. The fine stranding gives high flexibility for repeated motion in drag chains and panel wiring. Tinning improves solderability and resists oxidation. Max DC resistance is 26.0 Ω/km at 20 °C per GB/T 3956. Two cores are laid up together, colour-coded for identification (red/black, blue/white). | |||
| 3. PVC Insulation | |||
| Each conductor is extruded with a layer of PVC insulation approximately 0.6 mm thick. The insulation compound is Type SP (soft PVC) formulated for 70 °C continuous service. The insulation provides the primary electrical barrier between the two cores and between cores and earth. Colour coding ensures correct polarity in control panels. Insulation resistance is ≥ 20 MΩ·km at 20 °C. | |||
| 4. Inner Sheath + Braid Shield | |||
| The two insulated cores are laid up with round fillers to form a round cable, then bedded with a 0.5 mm PVC inner sheath. Over this, a tinned copper wire braid is woven at approximately 85% coverage. The braid provides EMI/RFI shielding by diverting interference currents to earth through the shield drain. The shield coverage yields roughly 60–70 dB attenuation at 30–1000 MHz. | |||
| 5. Outer PVC Jacket | |||
| A final 0.7 mm PVC jacket (Type ST) is extruded over the braid, giving the finished cable an outer diameter of approximately 6.8 mm. The jacket is typically black or grey, oil-resistant, abrasion-resistant and flame-retardant. Printed markings along the jacket show product type, cross-section, voltage rating, metre marking and manufacturer name. Install in dry indoor areas or UV-protected conduits. |
8. Factory Advantages
Tinned copper conductor for oxidation resistance and easy soldering. Tinned copper braid shield at ≈ 85% coverage for reliable EMI/RFI protection. Flexible Class 5 stranding dresses easily in control panels and drag chains. Colour-coded cores (red/black) prevent wiring errors. Oil-resistant PVC jacket for industrial cabinet use. 100% routine electrical QA on every production reel. Cut-to-length on coils with sealed ends for reduced waste. Lightweight ≈ 48 kg/km for easy handling. Full traceability from copper rod to finished reel, with MTC and certification support for industrial tenders.

9. Packaging, Storage & Logistics
Cut to customer-specified length on export-grade coils or wooden drums, with both ends heat-sealed to prevent moisture ingress. Coils wrapped in waterproof film and corrugated cardboard, labelled with product type, core count, cross-section, length, weight, production date and reel number. Standard lengths 100/200/500/1000 m. Store dry indoor, -10 to +40 °C, below 75% RH, away from direct sunlight and chemical solvents. FOB Shanghai/Nanjing/Qingdao; CIF and DAP available. Sample lead time 5–7 days; bulk production 15–25 days.

10. Procurement Specification
State cable designation "RVVP 2×0.75", required length per coil/drum, and core colour preference (red/black, blue/white, etc.). Request the routine AC withstand test record and shield coverage certificate for the specific batch. Specify any regional certification requirements (UL 2464, CE, etc.) at order time. Payment: 30% T/T deposit, balance against B/L copy. Documents: MTC, ROHS/REACH, COO, commercial invoice, packing list.
